Breaking new, Davis Cup without audience, solidarity statement by Canadian organizations with leading Palestine human rights organizations, and abolish anti-Palestinian terror list
We remind Canada, and all other State parties to the Rome Statute, of their duty to “cooperate fully with the Court in its investigation and prosecution of crimes within the jurisdiction of the Court” (Article 86). Canada should be fully aware of this duty as they “played a crucial role in establishing the International Criminal Court” and the Rome Statute.
We condemn Tennis Canada and the International Tennis Federation for caring more about the safety of Israeli athletes than of the 2 million Palestinians in Gaza, under relentless bombardment. Tennis Canada is not afraid of violence but of civil disruptions that will hold them accountable, disrupt “business as usual”, and cost them pride and money.
As the government raises the possibility of following the UK by criminalizing those who express public support for Palestine Action and other listed groups, it’s more important to challenge a list that undercuts Canadians civil liberties & Palestinians’ legally enshrined rights.
In recent hours, the completely lawless state of Israel bombed a boat anchored in Tunis, and a residential complex in Doha. They are trying to deter the largest ever humanitarian flotilla to Gaza that’s currently in Tunisia while simultaneously assassinating Hamas leaders in Qatar discussing a US ceasefire proposal. Israel’s global terror campaign makes more clear than ever the importance of abolishing Canada’s anti-Palestinian terror list.
