Canada is complicit in Israel’s genocide in Palestine.

It always has been an active participant in the colonization of Palestine; and since October 2023 it has recommitted itself to supporting the Zionist State. This is not a surprise when considering Canada’s own existence as a settler colonial state that is committing an ongoing genocide against Indigenous Peoples here on Turtle Island. Canada is complicit in a myriad of ways. This page is meant to act as a resource and connection point for folks looking for research, advocacy opportunities, and actions. Much of this information is pulled from our analysis of Canada’s “risk of complicity” provided to Senator Woo in response to his open call for independent analyses on the subject. This resource hub includes information regarding:

• Support for Israel’s military including weapons + arms supplies, strategic military support, and foreign military recruitment
• Complicit investments including through pension funds, universities, and banks + insurance companies
• Tax-subsidized funding for Israel’s crimes including through military support, settlement expansion, and Israeli universities
• Healthcare sector complicity including inaction from Canadian medical associations and complicit partnerships between Canadian and Israeli hospitals
• Legitimization of genocide by cultural institutions including through sportswashing, artwashing, and pinkwashing
• Support for Israel’s occupation and apartheid through land + tourism including, complicit real estate companies, settlement tourism, and natural resource theft
• The Media’s complicity including through organizations like HonestReporting Canada and Western journalism’s facilitation of consent for genocide
