Many Christians ignore the reality of Palestinians Christians while supporting Israeli occupation, apartheid, and genocide. Christian Zionism spans from passive support for the concept of Israel based on church teachings to outright genocidal apologists defending and promoting Israel’s war crimes.
We’re celebrating Advent by exposing Christian Zionism in Canada.
Xavier Abu-Eid, a Palestinian Christian living in Ramallah, “explains that his community’s existence is largely ignored because, ‘It is not convenient for [Christian Zionists]. Our existence quickly kills [the] narrative’ that this is being done for Christians…We are also bad news for Islamophobes because we make people see this not as a religious conflict, but as a national liberation struggle from a setter-colonial enterprise that never cared whether we were Christians or Muslims.”
When Alice Kisiya, a Palestinian Christian and journalist from al-Makhrour, set up a small church “in which she led prayer vigils in which Christians, Jews, and Muslims participated…’The police and the army demolished the church piece by piece—and took the pieces with them.’”
This is why it is important to expose Christian Zionism. It is not a fringe community. “For every Jewish Zionist, there are 20 or 30 Christian Zionists. It is deeply ingrained in Canadian society and politics. In Canada, Christian Zionism is traced back to the 1870s and 1880s whe Henry Wentworth Monk raised funds in Canada and England to buy land in Palestine for European Jews.
What is IFCJ?
International Fellowship of Christians and Jews Canada (IFCJC) builds “bridges between Christians and Jews, blessing Israel and the Jewish people around the world with humanitarian care and life-saving aid.” The majority of IFCJC expenses, beyond administration and fundraising (the latter which is extremely high), goes to Keren L’Yedidut in Israel. A significant amount of Keren L’Yedidut’s focus is on support for the Israeli military. In 2022 alone, Keren L’Yedidut stated it supported 180,000 Israeli soldiers.

Between 2013 and 2024, IFCJC received a total of over $7.6 million from 266 Canadian charities. The majority of these charities are Christian churches / organizations.
It is clear that IFCJC is funneling tax-subsidized funds to organizations in Israel that support the Israeli military and illegal settlements in occupied Palestine.
It’s that fundraising time of year. As a grassroots organization, we rely on incredible volunteers and community support to do this work. We are fortunate to collaborate with a ton of amazing people, but at the core we’re a two person team. Your support will allow us to continue this work in 2026. We have intentionally chosen not to register as a charitable organization. This means we do not provide tax receipts. There are many reasons for this decision, including a refusal to participate in the charitable industrial complex. But, the reality remains that do to the work, our small team needs support.
