Canada has blood on its hands.
March 26 2023 marks eight years of the brutal war in Yemen. A war that has killed over a quarter of a million people. A war that Canada has armed by sending over $8 billion in weapons to Saudi Arabia since 2015, the year the Saudi-led military intervention in Yemen began.
ALL OUT on the eight-year anniversary of the brutal war in Yemen. We will rally in solidarity with the people of Yemen to demand #CanadaStopArmingSaudi and denounce Canada’s deadly hypocrisy in fueling the war with billions of dollars in arms sales.
◉ 2:00PM Sunday March 26 2023

Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland said about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine: “If you make war on the rules-based international order, we’re going to cut you out of the global economy.” Yet the opposite is true for Saudi Arabia. Canada has continued to do brisk business with the Saudi regime, including exporting billions of dollars’ worth of arms, even as Saudi bombs rained down on Yemeni schools, hospitals, mosques, and markets, killing and wounding civilians in the thousands.
It is deeply hypocritical and racist for Canada to #StandWithUkraine while remaining complicit in Saudi war crimes in Yemen and one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
Join us on Sunday March 26 to denounce Canada’s deadly hypocrisy in valuing some lives over others and demand that #CanadaStopArmingSaudi immediately, massively increase humanitarian assistance for Yemen, and ensure a just transition for arms industry workers.
After two years of escalating organizing across the country — from arms blockades and banner drops, to car caravans and street protests, to media exposés and damning reports — we know the Trudeau government is feeling the pressure.
Bring your friends, family, neighbours out to Simcoe Park on Sunday. Join us as we make it loud and clear that we see Canada’s hypocrisy and we refuse to value the lives of some war victims over others. Canada must stop arming Saudi Arabia.
