In 2020, groups came together to request meetings with the Parliamentary Subcommittee on International Human Rights (SDIR) o the Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee and the Standing Senate Committee on Human Rights (RIDR). This was a result of indication by Foreign Affairs Secretary that this would be an appropriate next step. See the requests below that were made by Amnesty Canada with support from Kashmir and solidarity organizations.
When the Committee dissolved, and given that India had put Domicile Law in place, updated letters were sent to the newly formed committees in February 2021.
