Une lettre exigeant que l’équipe cycliste Israel Premier Tech ne soit pas autorisée à participer au Grand Prix Cyclistes de Montréal, qui aura lieu le 14 septembre 2025, a été remise par huissier au bureau de la mairesse Valérie Plante le vendredi 5 septembre.
Sylvan Adams – (ami proche du criminel Benjamin Netanyahou) – propriétaire de l’équipe cycliste Israel Premier Tech, (anciennement connu sous le nom d‘Israel Start-Up Nation)s’est présenté comme un « ambassadeur autoproclamé de l’État d’Israël » et a indiqué que les cyclistes d’Israel-Premier Tech sont également considérés comme des ambassadeurs du pays.
Faut-il rappeler que de multiples organisations israéliennes de défense des droits humains, dont B’Tselemet Physicians for Human Rights Israel, et la plus grande association mondiale de spécialistes du génocide, soit International Association of Genocide Scholars, ont publiquement qualifié les actions d’Israël à Gaza de génocide, de crime contre l’humanité, et de crime de guerre.
En permettant à une équipe agissant comme agent de promotion d’un État accusé de violations des droits humains à un évènement qu’elle parraine, la Ville de Montréal s’expose à un risque réel de complicité et de blanchiment de ces crimes par le sport, communément appelé le « sportswashing. »
Il faut noter que le directeur technique du Tour d’Espagne, qui est présentement en train d’avoir lieu, a tout récemment suggéré que l’équipe Israël-Premier Tech se retire de la compétition.
PAJU estime que cela constitue un motif supplémentaire pour procéder à l’exclusion de l’équipe Israël-Premier Tech du Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal.
Par conséquent, PAJU demande formellement à la Ville de Montréal, et particulièrement à la Mairesse Valérie Plante, d’utiliser leur autorité pour exiger l’exclusion immédiate de l’équipe Israël-Premier Tech de la liste des participants au Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal 2025.

Montreal, September 8, 2025
A letter demanding that the Israel Premier Tech cycling team not be allowed to participate in the Grand Prix de Montréal race to be held on September 14, 2025 was delivered by bailiff to the office of Mayor Valerie Plante on Friday, September 5.
Sylvan Adams – (a close friend of the criminal Benjamin Netanyahu) – the owner of the Israel Premier Tech racing team (formerly known as Israel Start-Up Nation) has referred to himself as a “self-appointed ambassador at large for the State of Israel” and has indicated that Israel–Premier Tech cyclists are also seen as ambassadors for the country.
It should be noted that multiple Israeli human rights organizations, including B’Tselem and Physicians for Human Rights Israel, and the world’s largest association of genocide scholars, the International Association of Genocide Scholars, have publicly described Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocide, a crime against humanity, and a war crime.
By allowing a team acting as a promotional agent for a state accused of human rights violations at an event it sponsors, the City of Montreal exposes itself to a real risk of complicity and whitewashing of these crimes through sport, commonly known as “sportswashing.”
It should be noted that the technical director of the Vuelta a España, which is currently taking place, recently suggested that Team Israel-Premier Tech withdraw from the competition.
PAJU believes this constitutes further grounds for excluding Israel-Premier Tech from the Grand Prix Cyclistes de Montréal. Consequently, PAJU formally requests the City of Montreal, and particularly Mayor Valérie Plante, to use their authority to demand the immediate exclusion of the Israel-Premier Tech team from the list of participants in the 2025 Grand Prix Cyclistes de Montréal.
