Canadian charities, regulated by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), are actively funding Israel’s illegal occupation, apartheid regime, and genocide. This is not new. One of the longest standing ways Canadian funds have made their way to the (now) State of Israel is through Canadian Jewish Federations and the United Israel Appeal of Canada (JFC-UIA) network.
It’s time for you to take action.
In addition to hundreds of millions of dollars the United Israel Appeal of Canada (UIAC) sends to Israel, the JFC-UIA network funds Canadian charities. This includes arts organizations, healthcare facilities, universities, local foundations, and Jewish community groups. It’s (past) time organizations STOP TAKING JFC-UIA MONEY. Accepting funds from entities within the JFC-UIA network is tacit, if not explicit, support for Israel’s illegal occupation, apartheid regime, and ongoing genocide. Whether you are an individual or group, you can get involved. Keep reading to learn why this matters or jump to the next section to get involved now!
A Quick Breakdown
On 23 June 2026, Science Open published Dr. Miles Howe’s article “Khalidi’s Triangle – Canadian Edition: The United Israel Appeal of Canada, the Jewish Federations of Canada, and Zionism’s Protected Place with the Canadian Charitable Sphere.”
The article explores the central role the UIAC plays in connecting the network of Canadian Jewish Federations to each other, and, more importantly, in financing Israel’s settler colonial project. If you haven’t read the full article yet, here is a quick breakdown of the history and interconnections between various key organizations. (To view the slides below, hover over the image and click the arrow to advance. You can also click on the right or left sides to advance/go back. You can also view it full screen by clicking the button in the bottom right corner).
The question that follows, is naturally, where is the money within the JFC-UIA network going? Well, funds travel from the Jewish Federations to UIAC. And UIAC sends a significant portion of its funds to Israel. By far, it’s biggest receipient is the Jewish Agency for Israel — sending over $651 million between 2000 and 2024.

Individuals
Check out the map of recipients below. Find one in your area and use our letter template to reach out. You can also use it as a phone script if you’re able to make contact that way. Ask your friends, family, and community to do the same.
Organizations
“Adopt a recipient” and demand they stop taking JFC-UIA money. You can use our letter template. We are also happy to provide other resources as needed.
Recipient Map
This includes any organizations that received a donation between 2023 and 2025* from one of the JFC-UIA network organizations (including the Jewish Community Foundation of Montreal and the Jewish Foundation of Greater Toronto).
A couple notes: We’re working on switching to a different map software, however, for now, we have a few caveats as you use the map. The search bar on the map is not the best, so we’d recommend using the zoom feature to look at the organizations in your area. Some recipients received funds from multiple JFC-UIA organizations; however, you will usually only be able to see one donor organization. If you want to see all the donors, check out the table below which lists all the recipients and donors.
Legend

*Only the Jewish Community Foundation of Montreal has data included for 2025. Full data for 2025 won’t be available until late 2026 or early 2027 from the CRA.
