As Easter approaches, Christians around the world prepare to celebrate the coming of their Saviour. Yet, in the birthplace of said Saviour, Christians are persecuted and targeted by the Israeli occupation and apartheid state. On Palm Sunday, the Israeli police barred church leaders and congregants from entering the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem. “The church is located on the site of Jesus’ death and resurrection.” This is obviously both not new and not isolated to Palestinian Christian’s. Israel has and continues to block Palestinian Muslims from accessing al-Aqsa mosque, including during Ramadan and for Eid.
Christian Zionism is not a fringe community. “For every Jewish Zionist, there are 20 or 30 Christian Zionists and therefore Netanyahu knows he needs the Christian, particularly the Christian right in America, Canada, Sweden, Holland and in much of Europe in order to maintain his position and to continue the expansion of the Zionist agenda in Palestine.”
Christian Zionist organizations with charity status are complicit in war crimes and genocide through their funding of entities that support the Israeli military and illegal Israeli settlements. Beyond this many of these “charities” publicly speak of converting Jewish people to Christianity.
There are two ways to take action:
- Send a letter to Canada Revenue Agency asking them to investigate these charities.
- Send a letter to organizations in your community who are supporting Christian Zionist charities.

A number of charitable organizations in Canada can be considered “Christian Zionist” because they hold a core belief called “millennialism” to bring about the second coming of Jesus Christ. Christian Zionists take purposeful action to hurry this process by advocating and funding the gathering of Jews from across the world in the “holy land of Israel” and then convert them to Christianity. Unfortunately this belief also aims for the destruction of the earth and world as we know it.
Their action involves forwarding funds tax-subsidized by Canadians to entities which support Israel’s military and illegal Israeli settlements in occupied Palestine. This makes them complicit in war crimes and genocide and implicates ordinary Canadian taxpayers as well.
The CRA has been asked to investigate a number of charities, including the following Christian Zionist organizations that appear to support the Israeli military, in violation of CRA policy. In February 2026, the CRA revoked Canada Charity Partners and Canadian Zionist Cultural Association’s charitable status for supporting a foreign military.
- The International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ) supports Israeli soldiers and their families. They also express support for Israeli military attacks in the West Bank. The majority of IFCJC expenses, beyond administration and fundraising, is directed to Keren L’Yedidut in Israel. A significant amount of Keren L’Yedidut’s focus is supporting the Israeli military. In 2022 alone, Keren L’Yedidut claimed it supported 180,000 Israeli soldiers.
- Behold Israel regularly celebrates Israel’s genocidal bombardment of Gaza.
- Faith Temple, a religious congregation supports Christian Friends of Israeli Communities (CFOIC), an Israeli organization which supports Israel’s military with security and helps entrench illegal settlements through infrastructure for settler communities in the occupied West Bank.
- Israel Peace Ministries provide pre and post-military training as well as support for “lone soldiers.”
- Jews for Jesus is connected with the Israeli military — regularly showing off former Israel military personnel who converted to Christianity. Jews for Jesus in Israel hosts weekly meetings for Israeli soldiers. Additionally, since October 2023, Jews for Jesus has been providing care packages to soldiers.
- First Century Foundations main recipient is King of Kings Community which hosts an “Israel War Relief Fund” to support those “impacted by the war.”
- Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry – Canada (FOI Canada) appears to be “giving funds directly to the Israeli military. They state they are “provid[ing] emergency medical equipment to first responders and frontline medics.”
- Chosen People Ministries in Israel has provided “more than 1,000 soldiers with hygiene products, thermal underwear, flashlights, chargers, and other necessities.” They also “organized barbecues and concerts on military bases, with 200–300 soldiers attending each event, providing opportunities to present testimonies and demonstrate [their] faith.”
- Zion Messianic Fellowship sends funds to Israel, with the majority going to Hadadit Keren Israelit L’Ezra (Hadadit L’Ezra) which helps pay for various conferences, including “Soldiers Conferences”.
- Christian Ministry to Israel showed immediate support for Israel in October 2023, and shared that one of the recipients of its funds was shopping for items for the Israeli army.

Unfortunately, there are many other problematic Christian Zionist charities. Take, for instance, Canada Christian College, CUFI-Canada, and John Hagee Ministries
Charles McVety is infamous having been called the most “vocally homophobic man in Ontario” by former Ontario Premier, Kathleen Wynne. McVety is the President of Canada Christian College (CCC), a registered charity and graduate school that prepares students for Christian Ministry.
Under the umbrella of CCC, McVety runs Christians United for Israel – Canada (CUFI-Canada). CUFI-Canada claims it is “a non-denominational coalition of individual Christians and Christian organizations from across Canada dedicated to actively supporting the Nation of Israel and its People.” It is affiliated with CUFI which is the largest pro-Israel organization in the United States with over one million members. CUFI was founded and is run by John Hagee, a Texas mega-church pastor. In addition to powerful lobbying for conservative Evangelicalism, “Hagee has wielded his beliefs to rally against gay marriage and adoption, women, and even Jewish people.” By operating under CCC umbrella, CUFI-Canada is able to provide tax-receipts for donations. McVety and Hagee are also directors of the charity Global Evangelism Television Canada Inc.
“Christians err in supporting the state of Israel. The modern state of Israel is not the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. Israel violates the most fundamental Biblical commandments of ‘you shall not kill’, ‘you shall not steal’, ‘you shall not covet your neighbour’s house’ and so many more of God’s basic demands. The Israel of today as it is enabled by Christians’ support is not an ideal — it’s an idol. Christian support for the state of Israel doesn’t help the Jewish people; it harms us by sanctifying a perversion of our true religion.” Rabbi David Mivasair
